Monitoring buffer hit rate

The buffer hit rate measures the percentage of time the system is retrieving records from memory versus from disk. You should view the buffer hit rate throughout the day to ensure that the users are getting consistently acceptable performance. A good goal for the buffer hit rate is 95 percent.
